Our adventures to and in Lisbon, Portugal have been pretty... different already.
Things started out fine at the airport. Then there was an issue with Katie´s boyfriend´s luggage and he had to wear 3 pairs of pants and 4 shirts through security. That was pretty hilarious.
Then as we were connecting to our final flight we TRULY realized we were in New Jersey when we saw someone who could have been Snooky´s aunt or something. Big hair, short skirt, too tan for winter and too loud than is actually necessary. After we stopped being confused about things we were finally going through security at the Newark airport. This is when everything REALLY started happening for us. Katie saw an Indian woman put a car seat on the conveyor belt WITH THE BABY STILL INSIDE about to push it through!! Katie said her heart stopped at the TSA worker was utterly shocked.
Our flight was fine. Much shorter than expected so that caused some difficulties this morning when we got to our hostel. They wouldn´t let us check in until about 1:00 this afternoon, so we spent 6 hours walking around town. Luckily we were done for the day by the time it started raining and we´ve probably seen more than half the things we had written down to see IN Lisbon. We saw the Se, St. Jorge´s Castle and about 4 of the neighborhoods near downtown. Hopefully we´ll be able to think of enough things to fill 4 more days of being in this area!
