"They need to stop telling me that"

We made it to Madrid! And more importantly, we made it to Belem yesterday!!!!

With the help of our amazing hostel chef, Isabella, we were given correct directions how to get there. She also told us where to get the most amazing pastery we´ve eaten the entire trip so far. The Pastei de Belem. Oh... So good.

After going to Belem, the modern design museum and watching Snatch at the hostel we were on our way to the train station. We were in a 4 person sleeper cabin with an older woman. Katie didn´t sleep very well because this said older woman kept turning her light on and off through out the night. I, on the other hand, passed out like a rock (as usual). So this means Katie is currently going on about 32 hours with only about an hour of sleep.

When we found our hostel in Madrid (which was actually pretty easy now that one of us understands the language) we were told AGAIN that we couldn´t check in until the afternoon. However this time wasn´t as bad because it was about 10:30 a.m. and not 6, and check in was 1:30 instead of 2:30. So we put our things in a luggage closet, ate breakfast and went on a 2-3 hour walking tour of the city since we had some time.

The walking tour was pretty cool. We learned a lot of things about the important spots and buildings in Madrid. Plus, our tour guide was funny and personable, so that made things better.

I´m off to lay down for a while and possibly take a nap. Katie and I decided that since it is Saturday and we haven´t gone out at night yet it´s a good night to explore European/Spanish night life.
